Job Summary:
Provide expert nursing care to cardiac and vascular surgery patients in a fast-paced stepdown unit. Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive patient management and ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition using telemetry and other medical equipment.
• Manage chest tubes, epidurals, and IV therapies, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the EMR system.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations to maintain safety and stability.
• Collaborate closely with team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with significant stepdown (PCU/IMC) experience in a cardiac or vascular setting.
• Recent (within 1 year) experience in CV surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, or fem-pop bypass preferred.
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, epidural management, and IV pump operation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented, adaptable attitude.
• CPR and ACLS certifications required.
