Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care in a cardiac step-down and telemetry unit, monitoring and managing patients with complex cardiac conditions. Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer titratable cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drips, heparin, and diuretics.
• Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms using Zoll monitors and other equipment.
• Perform bedside procedures including cardioversion, post-procedure assessments, and patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Comply with all unit policies, guidelines, and dress code requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent step-down or telemetry nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with cardiac IV medications and titratable infusions.
• Experience with prostacyclins (e.g., Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including every other weekend and on-call shifts.
