Job Description
Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and developing individualized treatment plans for patients with cognitive and ADL physical functioning disorders. They provide evidence-based, skilled rehabilitation interventions to improve patient outcomes and promote independence.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ cognitive and physical functioning to identify needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and support needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to communicate patient progress, barriers, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services in electronic health records per regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in Missouri.
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of OT experience, preferably in LTC or rehab settings.
- Have current NBCOT certification and adhere to AOTA and State practice acts.
- Demonstrate strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and communication skills.
- Be able to supervise OT assistants, aides, and students as needed.
