Job Description
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist provides specialized respiratory care to pediatric, neonatal, and infant patients in a teaching hospital setting. This role involves delivering on-night shifts, participating in holiday rotations, and adhering to facility protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor respiratory status of pediatric, neonatal, and infant patients.
- Administer respiratory treatments and interventions as prescribed.
- Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and related respiratory equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments and treatments in electronic health records.
- Ensure compliance with certifications, licensing, and hospital policies.
Qualifications:
- Hold RRT certification with NBRC or South Carolina RCP credential.
- Possess at least 2 years of pediatric, neonatal, and infant respiratory experience.
- Maintain current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Epic electronic health record systems.
- Hold an active South Carolina RRT license or pending application.
- Be willing to work 3x12 night shifts, including holiday rotation.
