Job Summary:

The IMC/PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse provides specialized patient care for critically ill adults requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions. They assume responsibility for developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in a fast-paced, multispecialty environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions continuously to identify changes in clinical status.
• Plan and coordinate effective nursing interventions based on patient needs.
• Implement patient care strategies, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety standards.
• Educate patients and family members about treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, manage chest tubes and other drains, and troubleshoot ventilation and oxygen delivery systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Ohio or Compact RN license.
• Possess at least 2 years of clinical experience in critical care or IMC/stepdown units.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including rhythm interpretation.
• Have recent experience with post-operative open heart and chest tube management.
• Certified in BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association.
• Experience with advanced cardiac and pulmonary procedures preferred.
