Job Summary:


The LPN - Medical Surgical position involves providing vital nursing care to acute and long-term patients in a complex care unit. The role requires independent patient assessment and management within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, blood products, and manage IV therapies including PICC lines and central lines.
  
• Monitor and assess patients using telemetry, oxygen devices, and wound care procedures.
  
• Collaborate with RNs to coordinate patient care and respond to emergency situations using rapid response and code teams.
  
• Follow strict infection control and isolation precautions while documenting patient progress in EPIC electronic charting.
  
• Float within scope across various units as needed; adhere to unit-specific protocols and scrub colors.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Hold an active New York State LPN license (non-compact); pending licenses are not accepted.
  
• Possess at least one year of recent acute care hospital experience.
  
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC charting and clinical skills including IV therapy, blood administration, and telemetry.
  
• Maintain current BLS certification.
  
• Capable of working 12-hour night shifts and every other holiday with flexibility to float across units.
