Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor medications and contrast agents during cardiac procedures.
- Assist physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology studies.
- Collect and analyze patient data, including vital signs and lab results.
- Document clinical observations and procedures accurately using Altera or similar systems.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, post-care instructions, and recovery expectations.
- Ensure compliance with travel and licensing requirements, including drug screening protocols.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Texas RN License or in a Compact State.
- Possess BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac or electrophysiology service line.
- Demonstrate proficiency with MedHost, GE MacLab, and charting systems like Altera preferred.
- Be able to travel and meet site-specific compliance standards, including mandatory drug screens.
- Reside more than 150 miles from the facility or in a metropolitan area.
