Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist for Open Heart or GMCL - CVOR assist in advanced cardiac surgeries within a high-paced operating room environment. They ensure the sterile field is maintained and support the surgical team throughout complex procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room with necessary supplies and equipment prior to procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all surgical instruments are properly sterilized and organized.
• Assist surgeons during cardiac and coronary procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors as directed.
• Monitor and manage surgical tools and supplies throughout the operation to ensure smooth workflow.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards during all surgical activities.
• Support the surgical team during emergencies and assist with post-operative setup and cleanup.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in a cardiovascular operating room.
• Certification in Surgical Technology (NBSTA or NCCT) preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work scheduled shifts and holiday coverage, including major and minor holidays.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with surgical staff.
