Job Summary:

Provides critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, supporting overall patient recovery and well-being. Operates independently and supervises others as delegated, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy, including making treatment recommendations.
• Administer aerosol, oxygen therapy, and arterial blood gases as ordered and documented.
• Manage care for ventilator-dependent patients and perform pulmonary function tests.
• Maintain accurate records of treatment and procedures, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
• Train and supervise nursing personnel on respiratory equipment use, patient surveillance, and safety protocols.
• Contribute to department operations, including record keeping, training new staff, and facilitating patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the practice state.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years recent experience in respiratory therapy, including critical care and neonatal intensive care.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
• Demonstrate proficiency in arterial blood gas collection, ventilator management, and pulmonary diagnostics.
• Require neonatal resuscitation and pediatric emergency assessment certification.
• Must have NICU/OB and Level II nursery experience.
