Job Summary:

Provides specialized respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, working independently and supervising others as delegated. Ensures safe and effective delivery of respiratory treatments in a critical care setting, adhering to departmental policies and physician orders.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and document patient needs to determine appropriate respiratory therapy interventions.
• Administer aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy according to orders.
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpret results for clinical decision-making.
• Manage and monitor ventilated patients, adjusting therapy as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records, flow sheets, and billing documentation.
• Support department training efforts and supervise new staff members.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential.
• Possess a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in California, Oregon, or Hawaii.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Demonstrate a minimum of two years recent critical care respiratory experience.
• Exhibit strong clinical assessment and procedural skills.
• Ability to work independently, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
