Sometimes, the right opportunity comes along at just the right time.

For Tracy, a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, that opportunity came late last December when she was contacted by recruiter Emily at TactStaff about an opening at an ISD center-based school system near her home.

After spending more than three decades in the healthcare field, Tracy was ready to explore a new chapter in her career, one that would allow her to use her experience in a school-based setting and support students as they worked toward their functional therapy goals.

“I was pleasantly surprised to be contacted by Emily from TactStaff regarding an opening at the ISD center-based school system near my home,” Tracy shared. “As an LPTA for 30+ years in the healthcare system, I was excited to pursue a new chapter working with students.”

A Rewarding New Challenge

Transitioning into a school-based role brought both new experiences and new challenges. Over the past seven months, Tracy has worked closely with students while learning and acclimating to the unique needs of her new environment.

“I have found it equally as rewarding as it is challenging,” she said. “I feel so much gratification and feel so honored to have this opportunity, as I strive to benefit every student the very best that I can as a therapist.”

For Tracy, the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students has become one of the most meaningful parts of this chapter in her career. Her dedication is guided by a quote that helps keep her grounded in her work with students and their special needs:

“To the World you may be one person, but to one person you may be the World.”

It is a reminder of the impact that one caring professional can have on a student’s life.

Support Throughout the Transition

Starting a new role in a new setting can be a big adjustment, especially after building a long career in another area of healthcare. Tracy says having the support of the TactStaff team made a meaningful difference throughout her transition.

“I have especially enjoyed having the support from TactStaff for the last seven months as I trained and acclimated in my new role,” Tracy shared.
