Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to adult patients in a stepdown/unit requiring continuous monitoring and management of complex conditions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions upon admission and continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall status.
• Administer titratable IV medications including cardiac drips such as cardizem, amio, nitro, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and angiomax.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights, perform ADLs, assist with bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, and blood sugar checks.
• Interpret telemetry strips, measurements, and identify abnormal rhythms accurately.
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as vents, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow devices, and assist RT with treatments.
• Collaborate with hospitalist or intensivist, providing care coverage 24/7, including night on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license through the state.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and titration of IV drips like cardizem, amio, nitro, heparin, dopamine, and dobutamine.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Ability to interpret telemetry, troubleshoot respiratory equipment, and work effectively in a fast-paced ICU environment.
