Job Summary:
Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients in a stepdown unit specializing in postoperative recovery and medical management. Develop and implement patient care plans while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive bedside nursing care to patients with complex cardiac and vascular surgical needs.
• Monitor patient vital signs, interpret telemetry data, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Administer medications, including cardiac GTTs, epidural infusions, and IV therapies, accurately and safely.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
• Document patient progress and interventions in the Cerner EMR system with accuracy and detail.
• Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with at least 2 years of recent stepdown or telemetry experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with CVICU and vascular surgery patient populations.
• Possess current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Exhibit strong clinical judgment and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Show excellent teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills.
