Position Overview

TactStaff EDU is hiring a School Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in a K-12 school district in the Houston, Texas area for the 2026–2027 school year.

This is a full-time, onsite school-based Occupational Therapy position supporting students across grade levels. The School OT will provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services, participate in ARD/IEP meetings, collaborate with teachers and special education teams, and help students develop the functional skills needed to access and participate in their educational environment.

We are seeking a Texas-licensed Occupational Therapist with school-based experience who is comfortable working with students across the K-12 population.

School Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to K-12 students

• Evaluate students and develop appropriate occupational therapy recommendations based on educational needs

• Provide occupational therapy interventions related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, functional skills, and access to the educational environment

• Develop and monitor therapy goals aligned with student IEPs

• Participate in ARD meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings

• Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, administrators, families, diagnosticians, and related service providers

• Provide recommendations for accommodations, adaptive equipment, and classroom strategies

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and service records

• Support students with a variety of disabilities and educational needs

• Communicate effectively with families and school staff regarding student progress and occupational therapy services

• Maintain compliance with district, state, and special education requirements

• Travel between campuses within the district may be required

Qualifications

• Current Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license through the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners

• School-based Occupational Therapy experience required

• Experience working with K-12 students preferred

• Experience with special education, IEPs, ARD meetings, and multidisciplinary teams

• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

• Ability to work onsite in a school district setting for the full school year
