TactStaff EDU is seeking a dedicated Licensed Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for an immediate elementary school opening in Elmhurst, Illinois. This full-time, school-based contract position supports students in a self-contained autism program serving grades 3–5.

This is an excellent opportunity for a special education teacher who is passionate about supporting students with autism, creating structured learning environments, and helping elementary students build academic, behavioral, communication, and independent living skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and instructional plans.

• Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained autism classroom serving students in grades 3–5.

• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques.

• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and school staff to support student progress.

• Monitor student performance, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate progress toward IEP goals.

• Support students’ academic development, communication, social skills, and independence.

• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement required.

• Experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or in a self-contained special education classroom preferred.

• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.

• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to provide differentiated instruction and implement individualized behavior supports.
