Job Summary:
Provide specialized respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes through skilled interventions and procedures. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver airway management, ventilation support, and medication administration.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced respiratory therapy procedures including extubation, nasal airway placements, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene.
• Administer inhaled medications such as albuterol, Atrovent, combivent, flovent, and other aerosolized treatments accurately and safely.
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilator systems, including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient responses, troubleshoot equipment alarms, and adjust therapies accordingly to maintain patient stability.
• Document care activities, interventions, and patient progress in EPIC EMR accurately and timely.
• Float to other units or campuses as needed, performing qualified tasks in line with documented competencies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of adult critical care experience, including trauma Level 1 settings.
• Be proficient in airway management, pulmonary hygiene, and aerosol therapy techniques.
• Demonstrate experience with ventilators, high flow oxygen therapy, and medication delivery systems.
• Have current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Be comfortable working night shifts and adhering to floating policies as needed.
