Job Summary:

A Medical Surgical RN is responsible for providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients requiring medical and surgical interventions across various hospital units. This role involves adapting to different clinical settings and supporting patient recovery and stabilization.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient conditions and develop individualized care plans tailored to acuity needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient progress, treatments, and outcomes accurately in Cerner EMR.
• Float across designated units including Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, Orthopedics, Vascular, Pulmonary, Cardiac Surgery, and Neuro.
• Respond to emergent patient needs and adjust care plans accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active, unencumbered RN license in Tennessee or multi-state compact.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation.
• Hold BLS certification; additional certifications per specialty are a plus.
• Be willing to float across various units as assigned.
• Be able to work 12-hour day shifts with 30-minute lunch, every other weekend, with flexibility to meet unit needs.
