Job Summary:
Provide specialized postpartum and antepartum nursing care to mother and baby patients in a fast-paced clinical setting. Deliver quality patient-centered care while adhering to facility policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor postpartum and antepartum patients’ health status, noting any changes or complications.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and update individualized care plans.
• Provide patient education on postpartum and newborn care, including breastfeeding and self-care instructions.
• Document all clinical assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EPIC).
• Float within the skill set, including NICU if required, to care for Level II nursery patients, ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license; VA license pending submission, required by Wednesday before start date.
• BLS and NRPC certifications required; copies must be submitted with application.
• Minimum of 1-year recent postpartum or maternal-child nursing experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in EPIC documentation and patient care.
• Ability to float within scope of practice, including NICU if applicable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
