Job Summary:
Performs a wide range of clinical laboratory tests on various biological specimens, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to safety protocols. Oversees test evaluation, documentation, and reporting while supervising trainees and laboratory assistants as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts quantitative and qualitative laboratory analyses across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, and other testing areas.
• Ensures proper specimen collection, labeling, handling, preservation, and storage according to established protocols.
• Applies positive patient identification procedures to maintain specimen integrity and accuracy.
• Reviews, evaluates, and documents test results, ensuring validity and accuracy; identifies and addresses incompatible or abnormal results.
• Maintains compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations.
• Performs quality control checks, evaluations, and documentation to uphold laboratory standards and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications:

• Possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences, or allied health technologies.
• Holds a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in California.
• Has current certification from ASCP or NCA.
• Demonstrates at least two years of recent laboratory experience in the relevant field.
• Maintains current BLS certification.
• Has experience with EPIC laboratory information systems.
