Job Summary:
Provides expert technical leadership and supervision within the clinical laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely testing results while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Supports departmental operations, staff training, and quality assurance to uphold laboratory excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all laboratory testing procedures, including point of care testing (POCT), ensuring validity and accuracy of results.
• Develop, review, and enforce laboratory policies, standards, and quality control protocols.
• Lead training programs for laboratory personnel on instrumentation, technology, and procedures.
• Manage equipment calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and regulatory compliance to pass inspections and audits.
• Serve as a clinical laboratory scientist when needed, providing direct testing expertise.
• Collaborate with different hospital departments and act as a regulatory liaison to ensure all accreditation standards are met.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences, or allied health fields.
• Possess a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in California.
• Have at least five years of clinical laboratory experience, with leadership experience preferred.
• Maintain current certification from ASCP or NCA, with current BLS certification.
• Demonstrate recent experience with laboratory instrumentation, quality control, and regulatory compliance (CLIA, FDA).
