Job Summary:
The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) will perform point-of-care testing and clerical duties within the Emergency Room Laboratory to support efficient patient care. This position requires certification through ASCP and flexibility to perform various tasks critical to FSED operations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct point-of-care testing to ensure rapid diagnostic results.
• Perform laboratory procedures according to established protocols and quality standards.
• Support clerical tasks as assigned by Nursing and Lab Leadership to maintain smooth unit operations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of testing results and laboratory data.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate efficient workflow and patient care.
• Adhere to safety and compliance guidelines within the laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
• Demonstrate proficiency in point-of-care testing procedures.
• Possess at least 2 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
• Be willing to perform clerical duties and support FSED operations as needed.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills suitable for fast-paced ER settings.
• Have the ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.
