Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical/Tele RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in an acute care hospital setting, primarily on a newly established unit with telemetry capabilities. The role involves monitoring patient vitals, interpreting dysrhythmias, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition upon admission and continuously monitor vital signs and telemetry data.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care planning.
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications, including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSTrauma Level as applicable.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid SC or Compact RN license prior to start date.
• Hold at least 2 years of recent experience in MS/Tele or telemetry units.
• Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
• Have current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSTrauma Level certifications.
• Be adaptable to floating within scope to meet unit needs.
• Have experience in community hospital settings preferred.
