Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the neuro stepdown unit within a hospital setting. Deliver compassionate, high-quality care during a 20-week winter coverage period, with options for 13 weeks of coverage as well.

Responsibilities:

• Administer patient care and monitor neurological status, recognizing critical changes promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform accurate assessments, including ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety protocols.
• Maintain compliance with licensing, certification, and hospital policies, including participating in orientation assessments.
• Document patient information thoroughly and accurately in electronic medical records.
• Work scheduled night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other holiday as required.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 18 months of recent neuro stepdown or travel neuro experience.
• Hold an active Ohio or compact state license in hand at time of application.
• Complete required certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, with all certifications active and in hand at submission.
• Successfully pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Be compliant with drug screening and background check requirements, including nicotine testing where applicable.
