Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients within a mixed unit setting, including PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Observation units. Demonstrates proficiency in intermediate medication administration and fluctuates between units to meet patient and facility needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and administer medications such as heparin, nitro, cardizem, and insulin.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float across various units including Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation.
• Manage patient flow aims to maintain an 18-24 hour length of stay, ensuring timely interventions.
• Document patient information accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively with ED providers for post-outpatient surgery care.
• Respond to emergent situations like chest pain, atrial fibrillation, or respiratory distress with appropriate interventions.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• Hold active BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC charting and intermediate medication gtts.
• Be familiar with patient diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, Seizure, and Post-operative complications.
• Able to float within scope to different units and facilities as needed.
• Pending Ohio license accepted; must have MI license in hand if applicable.
