Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in IMC/PCU/Stepdown provides high-quality patient care within a specialized unit, ensuring safety, assessment, and effective treatment for patients with complex medical conditions. The RN collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver efficient, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on age-specific criteria.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize abnormalities, and respond to changes promptly.
• Assist with procedural tasks such as chest tube removal, pacing wire management, and ventilation troubleshooting.
• Educate patients and their families regarding post-procedure care and ongoing treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Ohio or Compact RN license.
• Possess 2+ years of RN experience, including post-operative open heart care.
• Demonstrate critical care experience and proficiency in cardiac monitoring.
• Exhibit knowledge of chest tube, drain management and pre/post-procedure patient care.
• Certify active BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association.
• Show pertinent skills in managing cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities.
