Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in an outpatient setting, ensuring safe and effective treatment while adhering to facility protocols and regulations. This role demands collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and flexibility to float between clinics as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy and other outpatient treatments to oncology patients.
- Monitor and manage patient responses, documenting vital signs and clinical observations.
- Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, side effects, and self-care.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation using Epic or equivalent electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, licensing requirements, and facility policies.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Registered Nurse license with active status at the time of submission.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an outpatient oncology setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC.
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems strongly preferred.
- Flexibility to float across multiple outpatient clinics and adapt to diverse clinical environments.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills.
