Job Description
Job Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. They develop and implement personalized care plans to improve patient outcomes while adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ communication, cognitive, and swallowing functions through standardized evaluations.
- Design and execute evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting therapy approaches accordingly, and document outcomes accurately.
- Provide counseling and education to patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare teams regarding speech disorders and interventions.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and communicate progress regularly.
- Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain all patient records in compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
Qualifications:
- Hold current CCC certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Possess valid state licensure in Missouri.
- Have at least 1 year of experience in speech therapy, preferably in LTC or rehabilitation settings.
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing assessments, documentation, and treatment planning.
- Ability to supervise and support CFY or student speech-language pathologists.
- Comply with ASHA and state professional practice standards and ethical guidelines.
