Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for sterilizing, decontaminating, and assembling surgical instruments to ensure patient safety and procedure efficiency. This role involves floating within scope to different departments and facilities as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, sterilize, and decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assemble and wrap surgical trays following industry protocols.
• Maintain proper documentation and recordkeeping for sterilization processes.
• Collaborate with OR staff to ensure timely instrument availability.
• Follow infection control guidelines and safety procedures consistently.
• Float to various campuses or departments as directed to meet operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 2 years of experience in sterile processing or related fields.
• Hold valid CBSPD and/or HSPA certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and gynecology case types preferred.
• Meet Level I trauma experience requirements.
• Be able to obtain South Carolina RN license or pending application proof.
