Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech participates in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments to ensure patient safety. This role requires flexibility to float within scope and work at multiple facility locations as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Execute sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments following hospital protocols.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate timely instrument processing.
• Document sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance accurately.
• Float within scope to various campus facilities, including ART, Main, or West Campus, based on operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including Level 1 Trauma experience requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, decontamination, and instrument assembly.
• Possess current certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA.
• Demonstrate expertise with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, or GYN cases is preferred.
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or teaching hospital is required.
• Maintain valid South Carolina RN or equivalent license, or proof of license application.
• Strong understanding of infection control standards and hospital sterile processing protocols.
