Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cath Lab/EP Technologist is responsible for assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. They support physicians and nursing staff by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate specialized catheterization lab equipment for cardiovascular procedures.
- Assist physicians during procedures, including setting up devices and ensuring proper functioning.
- Obtain and interpret vital signs, rhythm strips, and EKG settings; monitor patient status throughout procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Manage inventory, including ordering and recording supplies via electronic systems.
- Document procedure details accurately and assist with patient transfer and post-procedure care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cath Lab or EP lab settings.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certifications.
- Experience with GE Discovery, IABP, Impella systems, and CSI ratio/census management.
- Proficient in EKG analysis, rhythm interpretation, and patient vitals monitoring.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with floating assignments within the facility.
- GA or Compact RN license required at time of submission.
