Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cath Lab/EP Technologist is responsible for assisting in catheterization procedures and electrophysiology studies within the cardiovascular laboratory. They support clinical staff by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing equipment, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the Cath Lab/EP suite by setting up sterile equipment and supplies for procedures.
- Assist physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology procedures, ensuring proper instrumentation and device functionality.
- Monitor patient vitals and comfort levels throughout interventions, reporting any changes to the clinical team.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, including equipment used and patient responses.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards at all times.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting and minor maintenance to support continuous workflow.
Qualifications:
- Hold an RCIS, RCES, or equivalent Cardiovascular Technology certification.
- Possess at least 1 year of experience working in a Cath Lab or electrophysiology setting.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathophysiology, and invasive procedures.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with physicians and nursing staff.
- Maintain current BLS and ACLS certification.
