Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Technologist specializing in Cath Lab/EP supports diagnostic and interventional procedures for adult to geriatric patient populations. This role requires advanced technical skills and adherence to safety and compliance standards within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and assist with diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, PCI, orbital atherectomy, device implants, and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) procedures.
- Obtain and interpret EKGs, monitor vital signs, and analyze rhythm strips, with a focus on sinus node rhythms.
- Prepare and operate GE Discovery imaging systems, Impella devices, and other cath lab equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation within Epic and other unit systems, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with the medical team and float within the department, including potential coverage at sister facilities.
- Uphold safety standards during procedure prep, execution, and post-procedure care, including patient monitoring and device management.
Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a cath lab or electrophysiology setting.
- Possess current BLS, ACLS, and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment, EKG interpretation, and rhythm recognition.
- Experience with GE Discovery systems, Impella, IABP, and CSI ratio/census management.
- Possess a state license or certification as required (GA or Compact RN license).
- Ability to adapt and perform under fluctuating clinical demands with flexibility for floating.
