Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical) will provide expert nursing care for patients primarily on the Respiratory unit, with occasional floating to Med-Surg specialty areas as needed. The role emphasizes accurate telemetry interpretation, safe care delivery, and full proficiency with Epic EMR documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver bedside nursing care for respiratory and medically complex patients in accordance with established protocols.
• Interpret telemetry rhythms accurately and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor vital signs and clinical indicators.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic EMR with complete accuracy.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines, escalating concerns according to clinical guidelines.
• Maintain infection prevention practices, including safe care for patients requiring isolation precautions.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Ohio RN license.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of current/recent telemetry and/or stepdown experience.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret telemetry rhythms (will be competency tested).
• Show documented current proficiency with Epic EMR (refresher or sit-1:1 support is not acceptable).
• Communicate effectively and adapt quickly when floating between Medical-Surgical areas.
