Job Summary:

TRAVEL - RN - MED/SURG - COST CENTER (606) provides patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment supporting orthopedic and spine programs. The RN manages assigned patients before, during, and after surgical care while coordinating with the care team to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care to post-acute and perioperative patients.
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, wound/incision status, and mobility to identify changes and escalate concerns promptly.
• Administer medications and therapies, including post-op care support such as CPAP/therapy-related assistance as applicable and DVT prevention devices (e.g., SCDs).
• Assist with ambulation and functional mobility using patient equipment such as walkers and patient mobility aids.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech and complete required clinical flowsheets and assessments.
• Collaborate with secretaries, PCTs, and navigators to support unit throughput and maintain effective patient communication.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license.
• Demonstrate strong orthopedic/spine clinical background, including knee and hip replacements and multi-level spine surgery care.
• Perform complex post-surgical nursing tasks with advanced competency in wound/incision and neuro/mobility monitoring.
• Exhibit proven teamwork skills and a patient-first mindset in a unit-based care model.
• Complete required unit onboarding and adhere to facility documentation and dress code standards (e.g., navy scrubs).
