Job Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (General OR RN) will provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care while supporting day-to-day operating room workflow. The role requires proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating for a wide range of general surgical cases, with readiness for occasional on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Scrub and circulate for general OR cases with attention to aseptic technique and sterile field integrity.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain operating room supplies, instruments, and equipment before and during procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to ensure timely, accurate case support.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively and communicate pertinent changes to the team promptly.
- Assist with perioperative documentation and uphold infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Respond to on-call requests and support coverage needs as scheduled, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current SC or multi-state RN license in hand at contract start.
- Maintain AHA BLS certification.
- Demonstrate the ability to scrub and circulate general OR cases.
- Have experience circulating and scrubbing general OR procedures, highly preferred (e.g., plastics, colorectal, urology, MIS, pancreaticobiliary, surgical oncology).
- Possess a radiation badge requirement (agency-provided; required for readiness).
- Bring at least 2 years of relevant operating room experience, with first-timers not preferred.
