Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will provide specialized perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures. This role requires experienced, versatile nurses capable of scrub and circulating in a fast-paced, Level I trauma and teaching hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive preoperative and postoperative patient care to optimize surgical outcomes.
• Scrub for and circulate a variety of general OR cases, including plastics, colorectal, urology, MIS, surgical oncology, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Manage on-call responsibilities, including 5-8 calls per month and weekend/holiday coverage as required.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing, certification, and facility policies, including radiation badge and BLS/ACLS certifications.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, EPIC charting requirements, and safety standards throughout all phases of patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active SC or multi-state RN license, in hand prior to start.
• Bring a minimum of 2 years of perioperative nursing experience.
• Be proficient in scrubbing and circulating in general OR cases; highly preferred experience with robotic surgery.
• Possess current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA; radiation badge required.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work 3x12-hour day shifts, with the ability to respond to on-call needs and emergency response assignments.
