Job Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery with floating coverage to Mother Baby as needed. Provides safe, patient-centered care throughout the perinatal continuum, including triage, labor management, and postpartum support within scope.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients and interpret fetal and maternal status to support timely clinical decisions.
- Manage labor-related nursing care in L&D and transition patients to appropriate postpartum pathways.
- Support postpartum mother and newborn care during float assignments within Mother Baby.
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and document clinical findings in accordance with policy.
- Collaborate with OB teams to coordinate care, escalation, and discharge planning.
- Maintain compliance with AWHONN, BLS, and NRP standards while prioritizing patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active state RN license required by the start date; maintain license eligibility throughout the contract.
- Maintain current BLS certification.
- Hold AWHONN certification at Advanced or Intermediate level (as required).
- Complete NRP certification.
- Demonstrate at least 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- Bring EPIC charting experience and/or be able to work effectively with EPIC during orientation.
