Job Summary:
Provide professional nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy Birth Center setting. Utilize critical thinking and independent judgment to ensure patient comfort, safety, and well-being throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and identify care needs for laboring mothers and newborns.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Supervise and direct nursing staff, including CNAs, LPNs, and technicians, to deliver high-quality care.
• Document patient symptoms, reactions, and responses to treatments accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes during childbirth.
• Ensure compliance with certification standards and update certifications as needed.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• Have at least 2 years of current experience in a Birthing Center environment.
• Demonstrate experience with laboring patients, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Certification in BLS required; NRP preferred or willing to obtain.
