Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides occupational therapy services to patients with cognitive and activities of daily living (ADL) physical functioning disorders. Develops individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patient independence and quality of life in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' cognitive and physical functioning to determine appropriate treatment interventions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on standardized assessments and evidence-based practices.
- Administer rehabilitative and medically necessary treatments including ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device use.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly, documenting outcomes and interventions in accordance with regulations.
- Educate and counsel patients, families, and caregivers on managing physical disorders and facilitating recovery.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and prepare detailed discharge summaries to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current, active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of Oklahoma.
- Possess at least 1 year of relevant outpatient, LTC, or rehab experience; new grads with Level II experience are considered.
- Demonstrate proficiency in documentation, assessments, and treatment planning within the last year.
- Exhibit strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and patients.
- Maintain adherence to NBCOT standards, ethics, and state practice acts at all times.
