Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cath Lab/EP Technologist is responsible for supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures within a Level II Trauma environment. The role involves operating specialized equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging and procedural equipment during cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology studies.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring adherences to aseptic techniques.
- Assist physicians with invasive procedures, monitoring patient status and documenting procedures accurately.
- Ensure proper inventory management using electronic systems such as Epic and Pyxis.
- Adhere to hospital protocols regarding radiation safety, infection control, and patient care during shifts.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly, supporting trauma and cardiac interventions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath Lab; trauma level II experience preferred.
- Possess BLS, ACLS, CCI RCIS certifications; applicable state licensure required.
- Demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic), Pyxis medication systems, and SBAR communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, maintaining professionalism and clinical competence.
- Flexibility to float within the facility and work every other weekend, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Excellent understanding of cardiac procedures, radiation safety, and sterile techniques.
