Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for providing specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires expertise in transplant cases and maintaining patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities:

• Administer preoperative and intraoperative nursing care for transplant and general surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons with sterilization, equipment setup, and surgical procedures utilizing tools like CUSA/Misonix.
• Monitor patient vital signs, manage anesthesia support, and respond to intraoperative changes.
• Ensure proper organ transplantation procedures, including organ placement and vascular anastomosis.
• Follow strict compliance with NICOTINE screening, drug testing, and facility protocols.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in electronic health records.

Qualifications:

• Hold at least 2 years of RN experience with a focus on Liver/Transplant or Operating Room nursing.
• Demonstrate proficiency in transplant procedures, including organ placement and handling.
• Possess current AHA or American Red Cross ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Be experienced in using CUSA/Misonix surgical devices.
• Maintain valid licensure and compliance with hospital and state requirements.
• Be able to work flexible shifts, including one 12-hour weekend shift per month.
