Job Summary:
The Charge Nurse in the Emergency Room oversees patient care management, ensuring efficient and safe clinical operations. They coordinate nursing activities, supervise staff, and serve as a key liaison among the healthcare team to provide top-quality emergency care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions promptly upon admission.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the medical team.
• Supervise and support licensed practical nurses, certified nurses’ aides, and ward clerks, ensuring adherence to clinical standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team regarding care plans and updates.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and support risk management initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse License in good standing with the State of Colorado.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required within six months of hire.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-pressure, fast-paced emergency situations with sound clinical judgment.
• Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English, both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
