Job Summary:

Provides specialized respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including infants through geriatrics, with a focus on adult and pediatric intubated patients. Ensures optimal respiratory function through assessment, treatment, and monitoring in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer invasive and non-invasive ventilation therapies, including bedside pulmonary function tests and aerosol treatments.
• Perform arterial and capillary blood gas analysis, line draws, and manage oxygen therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
• Monitor ventilator systems, troubleshoot equipment, and adjust settings as necessary per physician orders.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment usage.
• Manage arterial lines and perform bedside assessments in a trauma and NICU setting.
• Comply with all clinical protocols and documentation standards using Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viaysis Avea systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold valid Georgia or Compact state RRT license and required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience, including trauma care.
• Demonstrate proficiency with ventilator management, arterial blood gases, and pulmonary function testing.
• Possess strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills.
