Job Summary:

The CVICU RN is responsible for providing specialized cardiovascular intensive care to critically ill patients following cardiac and vascular surgeries. This role requires delivering high-quality patient care within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac and neurological patient status to detect any changes requiring intervention.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to protocols and physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient information accurately using the Epic charting system.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Float within scope to meet unit and facility staffing needs, including sister facilities as required.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid South Carolina or Compact RN license in hand prior to start.
• Have at least 1 year of recent CVICU experience; 2 years preferred.
• Possess ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Demonstrate experience in cardiac and neuro patient care.
• Be able to work 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including holiday rotation.
• Meet the travel compliance requirements, including RTO submission and COVID-19 protocols.
