Job Description
Job Summary:
The IR Tech specializes in assisting during interventional radiology procedures, ensuring patient safety and technical accuracy throughout their treatment. They work closely with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver optimal patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate imaging equipment such as Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems to support IR procedures.
- Assist physicians with patient positioning, sterile techniques, and procedural setup.
- Monitor patient status and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot technical instruments to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to compliance policies, including holiday and shift coverage, and complete required clinical screens and documentation.
- Manage supply inventory via Pyxis and coordinate timely medication administration.
Qualifications:
- Hold ARRT certification with a valid GA or Compact license.
- Possess BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Have at least 1 year of IR tech experience; first-timers are not accepted.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems.
- Be able to work a 5x8 day shift and be flexible for holiday and call coverage.
- Pass clinical screening aligned with Piedmont guidelines.
