Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide specialized respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting, utilizing advanced techniques and equipment to support respiratory function and patient recovery. Collaborate with medical teams to ensure optimal treatment outcomes and compliance with clinical standards.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor ventilator therapy, CPAP, and other respiratory treatments per physician orders.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures, including ABGs, pulmonary function tests, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced equipment such as Drager vents, Phillips V60, and Hiflo systems.
- Perform interventional procedures like bronchoscopy, cryotherapy, stent placement, and fluoroscopy-guided treatments.
- Document patient assessments and treatments accurately in the electronic medical record system.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and post-discharge care protocols.
Qualifications:
- AS degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital environment.
- Proficiency with ventilator management, ABGS interpretation, and pulmonary diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of advanced respiratory equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work night shifts, including some weekends, with flexible scheduling.
