Job Summary:
Seeking experienced LVNs and RNs for a med/surg tele unit serving as overflow for ED boarded patients. The role involves managing diverse patient needs in a flexible environment within the GI Endoscopy space, with potential for patient volume fluctuations based on demand.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care aligning with medical-surgical and telehealth protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments, including blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube management, and oxygen therapy.
• Perform clinical procedures such as Foley catheter insertion, NG/G tube management, and ear/eye drops application.
• Communicate patient status and updates to RN or MD using SBAR protocols and verbal reports.
• Monitor vital signs and observe isolation precautions, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience in med/surg or tele units.
• Valid NY State RN or LVN license in hand.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system.
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV placement for RNs.
• Ability to float as required and adapt to variable patient census.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work flexible scheduling shifts.
