Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cath Lab Tech is responsible for supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in an acute care hospital setting. They ensure safe, efficient operation of cath lab equipment while providing exceptional patient care throughout procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor advanced cath lab imaging and diagnostic equipment during procedures.
- Assist physicians with coronary diagnostic, intervention, and monitoring tasks.
- Prepare and maintain procedural equipment, ensuring all tools are sterile and functional.
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records following hospital protocols.
- Adhere to safety standards, including radiation protection and infection control practices.
- Support patient positioning and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience in a clinical setting.
- Possess current certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT or RCIS, and South Carolina license (SCRQSA).
- Demonstrate proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrubs and monitoring.
- Maintain a valid radiation badge, provided by the agency.
- Exhibit excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
- Be flexible to rotate shifts and accommodate on-call requirements.
