Job Summary:
Seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical/Tele Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The registered nurse will manage a diverse patient population with various diagnoses, including respiratory, renal, diabetic, infectious, and cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as respiratory illnesses, renal conditions, diabetes, sepsis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including float policies and travel compliance standards, while maintaining flexibility for schedule changes.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in Epic or other electronic health records systems.
• Ensure all certifications, licenses, and background checks are current and submitted prior to assignment start.
• Support patient education and discharge planning to promote recovery and health management.

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia RN license, with pending licenses accepted if in-hand by the deadline.
• Minimum of 13 weeks of RN experience in a hospital medical-surgical or telemetry setting.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications per specialty.
• Epic electronic health record experience is mandatory.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.
• Must comply with UVA’s float and travel policies.
