Job Details

Job Summary:
Provide expert nursing care to patients with respiratory, renal, diabetic, infectious, and cardiovascular conditions in a Medical-Surgical/Tele unit. Maintain patient safety and comfort through high-quality clinical interventions and adherence to hospital policies.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions, ensuring early identification of changes in health status.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and document interventions accurately in Epic.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and post-discharge care.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including BLS certification and UVA's float policy.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Virginia nursing license or be eligible pending licensure.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 13 weeks of relevant clinical experience.
• Possess Epic electronic health record system experience.
• BLS certification required at the time of assignment.
• Show ability to work night (3x12 hours) and day shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking and communication skills.
